My Long Weekend

Was packed! But I was still able to catch up on my lost hours of sleep.

Saturday: Practically spent the whole morning sleeping. Afternoon, we (Me, Paolo and his dad) had to go to Lipa Batangas. Paolo's tito passed away so we had to go there to attend the wake. Traffic was really bad that it took us 4 hours to reach Lipa. We left our house at around 4pm and arrived past 8 na. We were so hungry by then so we had to eat dinner first at a nearby restaurant before heading to the cathedral where the wake was. When we arrived at around 9pm, most of the people already left. Paolo's mom had already been complaining that ang tagal daw namin dumating. We stayed there till 11.. mas matagal pa yung travel time namin than the time we actually stayed at the wake. Balikan lang kami so we had to leave din early since we were going back the next day for the funeral.

Sunday: We had to wake up early since the funeral service will be at 12nn. Had to drag myself out of the bed coz I was still tired from that road trip yesterday. This time however, our travel was a lot lighter. There was little or no traffic at all at SLEX. It was raining during the service so Paolo and me opted to just stay in the car. We left Lipa at around 2 and had lunch at Pancake House in SLEX.

While we were there, as usual, the relatives were asking again if I was already pregnant. This is why I am already at the point where I am starting to dislike attending family affairs. We just responded to them that wala pa talaga and that we are "working" on it. This time, his cousin suggested "hilot". As I have written here, my mom is a doctor and being one, we were not raised to believe in this practice. No offense to the believers of hilot but nobody in our family had hilot. His cousin was claiming that another cousin who was trying to get preggy for almost a year had hilot and she got pregnant. Being "desperate", I told Paolo that we should give it a try. Maybe this was just what we needed. So maybe in the coming weeks, this manhihilot will be coming over to our house. I'll let you all know how it will turn out.

On a lighter note, Paolo and I decided to go on a vacation. A trip that will just be the two of us. In short, our long overdue honeymoon. For the past 2 years. our trips abroad and out of town were either with our friends, his family or mine. We are planning to go to Hong Kong on October 31 to November 2 to be exact. No confirmed bookings yet as we are still looking for hotels in Hong Kong and try to get our free tickets from PAL from our earned miles. We might squeeze in a day trip to Macau to check out their own version of Las Vegas. This will be a very exciting adventure!

Bitten by the bug

The "tamad" bug that is. Trying so hard to blog and blog hop but I just can't get myself to visit as many blogs as I want to.

I have so many topics in mind to blog about but I'm just too lazy to.

A way to end the week

THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!
Can't stress that phrase enough to express my happiness that my weekday is about to end in 1 hour and 48 minutes to be exact (I get out of the office by 4pm). As I've twitted yesterday, I went home early.. Undertime for one hour. I'm at that point again where work is really W-O-R-K. Its something tedious and just plain boring. I hope to get exciting and interesting assignments in the near future.

So, this morning, I had to somehow drag myself out of the bed to take a shower, dress up and go to the office. I'm just happy that its gonna be weekend in a few hours.. that I will have all the time in the world again to sleep and be a bum for two days.

Lunch hour was approaching, my officemates and I decided then to just have coffee or dessert since we all have baons (I had pasta with garlic and shrimps -- yummy!). We were looking for a place that is quiet and cozy.. Our choices were: Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at Greenbelt, Starbucks beside Tower 1 of Makati Stock Exchange, Cafe Breton at Greenbelt and UCC at Paseo Center. Then I suggested that we try the new shop/restaurant of the daughter of our big boss, Classic Confections at Greenbelt 5.

Off we headed to Greenbelt 5 which is just a 3-minute walk from our office. We ordered some of her famous cakes like Nono's Chocolate Oblivion (which I believe was named after her dad), Mango torte and my favorite Banana Cream Pie for the 3 of us to share. My officemates each ordered capuccino while I had Hot Choco since I wanted to lay off the caffeine. The cakes were divine and the hot choco was really something I feel I will crave for in the coming days. I want to take my girlfriends here. I'm sure they will enjoy what Classic Confections has to offer. This is a definite try to all dessert junkies like me..

I now feel fatter after cosuming a million calories from my lunch break.. but its all good! I enjoyed every bite and sip. I will just have to "starve" myself next week.. Haha!

Plan for tomorrow: Movie night with friends at Promenade to watch Dark Knight

Happy weekend everybody!!

Boring Tuesday

As I said in my other post, I have nothing to do here in the office for the rest of the month. I've been browsing thru some websites like Tiffany, Cartier and Bvlgari and let myself drool over their jewelries and watches. I wish I could own one of their fine fine jewelries before I hit 30! (what's with me and the age of 30 anyway? Haha!)

So, how did my weekend go? It was a quiet one I would say. We were planning on a movie date or a very nice dinner date but walang natuloy sa kanila. My in-laws invited us for dinner then we just watched 2 dvd movies at home after. Our movies of choice that night were Enchanted and Alvin and the Chipmunks. I know these movies are so outdated already but those were the only ones that we haven't watched. Naaliw ako on both movies especially kay Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Sunday naman, we just had lunch at CPK Trinoma. I was craving for their Asian Salad (I forgot what's it called now) and their Barbecue Chicken Pizza. Which by the way, I almost finished half of it. Yuck! Takaw!

Gotta get back to my diet!

Sooooo looking forward to the weekend!

Movie Night on a Monday?!

Yes, it was a movie date with Paolo at Trinoma last night to watch Iron Man. We usually do this on a Friday or Saturday when we don't have plans with my friends but yesterday, I was surprised when he called me up while driving on my way home from the office asking me if I wanted to catch the 7:30 pm screening at Trinoma. Ofcourse I said yes even if my stomach was feeling a little upset. I like it when he's spontaneous so I took advantage of it! Haha!

I just took a quick shower to freshen up then we headed off for Trinoma which is just 5-10mins away from our place. He bought the tickets and I bought food to bring inside the cinema. My choice that night was Taters since I was craving for their white cheddar nacho chips while Paolo had the regular nachos with toppings of beef and cheese.

We finally settled into our assigned seats, watched the trailers of upcoming movies then the movie started na. My gosh, umpisa pa lang ng movie, it was so action-packed na! Ang galing ng effects and the story was kinda realistic since the setting was the war in Afghanistan.

Anyway, they shot some scenes that we got to visit while in the US. One of the scenes that made me so kilig was the one shot at at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA. It was the scene where Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) had a charity ball. Wala lang, ang saya lang coz I got to see and be in the places where some scenes were taken.

Picture from a scene in Iron Man. That's Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark) coming down from the car

This is us.. hehe

I highly recommed the film. Ang galing kasi unlike Superman or Spiderman, Iron Man has no special powers or is no super human being. His power was just his sheer ingenuity. Ang galing! If you haven't watched it, better do so..

I feel..

so REFRESHED! after the Holy Week. We just stayed home last Thursday to pack our stuff, visited my parents on Friday then went to Shangri-la mall on Saturday to have lunch. We were supposed to eat at Steak Town but it was closed so we tried Sumosam for a change. The food was so-so and the price was unreasonable. We just had California Maki, Tempura, Beef Tepanyaki and we shared a cup of Japanese fried Rice and we paid P1,200.. we felt it was too overpriced!

We're all set for our 10pm flight tomorrow to Los Angeles. I'm so excited! Haha! I was still planning to go to work tomorrow since I can leave the office by 4pm but Paolo told me not to go to the office anymore coz I might leave some important stuff and it will be hard to go back home. As I said in my other post, I was the one who did the packing so I know where everything is.

Anyway, it will be a busy day for me today since I will be turning over some work and need to schedule payments on my cards and utilities. Thank God for online banking!!

One Month Old

My blog is now officially one month old!! Wow, ang bilis.. I never thought I could post this much within a months time..

So, how am I after a month? Hmm.. nothing changed that much. We're still TTC after my 2nd round of Clomid.. I'm still not losing hope..

Anyway, how was my weekend? We spent Saturday night at Spiral for a "send-off" dinner kasi some of us are going abroad for vacation of some sort. Kami ni Paolo sa US, Monette and Pat will be going to Europe for their honeymoon and Katz will be in Boston for an immersion or something. We'll see each other again after April 20 na. It was also Benjo's birthday and he brought along his new toy.. a brand new Canon DSLR with the lens care of his Kuya Lem (Karl of Fotogra Weddings). Here are some pics from our dinner:

Obviously enjoying our food..

Paolo loves this shot.. Pang ad daw! Haha!

A "surprise kiss" shot.. Seriously, nobody thought I'd do this kasi I was just passing by on my way to the washroom

My Hand.. paying for the overly-priced drink!

Lastly, my solo shot.. Semi-candid yan! Hahaha!!
The food was great especially the desserts. Nothing new though. I wish they have tepanyaki ice cream like the ones at Heat and Seven Corners. Lugi na ko sa buffet coz I have a small appetite na. We also noticed that their prices increased na. Before we would only pay around P1,800 for 2 (we have discount/membership card) pero now, its almost P2,200 plus drinks. Pero sulit pa din kasi masaya naman si hubby.. hehe..

Monday, March 10, 2008

I am sneaking some blog time while at work.. hehe.. Was able to finish my monthly reports from January to February which is not due until March 15. So that means, I am now free for the whole week! Woohoo!! More time to blog hop and check out some shopping sites.

Anyway, I attended the wedding of Monette and Pat last Saturday at National Shrine in Makati and Makati Shang for the reception. I am part of their entourage as their cord sponsor. Their wedding was a blast! Ang saya to watch them perform a very hip (hop?!!) dance number. Syempre they had to change their shoes to be more comfy and more appropriate for the dance number. Monette was in a pair of pink Chuck Taylors while Pat was I think in a white one..

And syempre, there were so many "kodakan" moments. I must admit, my friends and I are camera addicts so we always have our pictures taken especially on occasions like these where we're all almost complete.

So here are some pictures of the wedding:

Ang nice ng dress namin noh.. Gowns were made by Frederick Peralta. My hair and make up by Boots Salon.

Me and Paolo outside the church after the ceremony. This time, I'm wearing a shrug that came with the gown.

The Girls (with a boy.. hehe)

After the reception. Hanging out at the third floor smoking area of Makati Shang. Already tied my hair since it was kinda hot outside. Oily na din ako here but I love this shot!
For more photos, check this out
One side kwento muna before I end this post. I had my hair and make up done at Boots Salon inside the G Spa in Sgt. Esguerra QC. It was my first time to experience threadin on my eybrows and upper lip. Grabe, ang sakit pala! Sa eyebrows medyo bearable but yung upper lips, shet! ang sakit talaga. I was teary eyed the whole time they were threading it. And super tagal ko din sa parlor. It took me almost 3 hours! I thought nga I'll be late for the church but buti na lang, they started around 3:30pm instead of 3pm.
So there, that's how my weekend went. Time to update my other blog..

Happy, Excited, Nervous, Sad

HAPPY
Already paid for our airline tickets for our US trip. We're leaving on March 25 but might move it earlier to Marh 23. Gulo di ba? hehe.. but for me, the earlier, the better. Kung pwede nga lang sa holy week na eh kasi ganun din yun di ba.. but we have to follow a schedule kasi.

EXCITED
Since we're all set for our US trip, I'm soooooo excited to go shopping. I wanna see if I could afford some pieces from Kitson since I always watch it on E! News. Then for my cheap thrills: Forever21 and Wetseal. I'm also looking forward to H&M and Nordstrom Rack. And for the most exciting shopping experience, OUTLET STORES for brands like Ralph Lauren, Coach, Nine West just to name a few.

NERVOUS
Could this be it??.... Are these the signs??...

These are just some of the questions that are in my mind. I won't divulge any info yet since baka maudlot but I really hope this one is for real na.

SAD
Got an email from Monette to break the news to us that Jill will be moving from Singapore to Canada. She's going to be so so far away. Unlike when she was still in Singapore where sometimes she would spend the long weekend here whenever she gets a break from work. Now, it'll be longer, harder and more expensive for her to come home. But I'm still happy for her coz that was what she always wanted (according to her email). So now, we're preparing for her despedida this Sunday.

Sobrang mixed emotions ako today....

Long Weekend

Yey! Its another long weekend and this means more time to blog, watch tv and sleep. So, how was my Saturday night? Hmmm.. I didn't go out with my friends. We were supposed to set a dinner so that Monette could give out her wedding invites but she just mailed it instead. I think a lot of us have plans already for the weekend kaya it didn't push through.

Anyway, we just had lunch at Saisaki yesterday. I was really looking forward to it since I was craving for their temaki and gyusaikoro steak. Paolo was teasing me that baka daw naglilihi na ko since I was unusually matakaw.. Well I hope this is it! But I'm still not expecting. It really breaks out heart everytime I get my period or we would have negative result in pregnancy tests.

After lunch, we went to Greenhills to have his phone unlocked. Globe gave him a phone for their loyalty program meaning he would be tied again to the plan for another 2 years. Unfortunately, the wala pang unlocking program for that particular model (its a Nokia). I, on the other hand was still looking for another pair of shades. I prefer a big, plastic one - very Jackie O, and my favorite brand is Gucci. I saw this pair with the horsebit logo with swarovski crystals on the temple and with black/gray gradient lense.. It was really to die for! But it was way beyond my budget! And then there was this Fendi pair which was 1/3 of the price of Gucci. It was a little bit bigger than the Gucci. Paolo likes the Gucci pair more than the Fendi one. I have to think it over and over if its worth splurging again into another pair of Gucci. I guess I still want to explore my choices meaning check out other malls.. hehe

We had our usual anticipated Saturday mass. Paolo had a game that night at Club 650 in Libis (Ateneo Basketball League). I decided to catch up on Gossip Girl. The DVD that Paolo bought for me was lacking 3 episodes to complete the first season. I decided to download the last 3 episodes from BitCommet. Since I was not able to burn it to a DVD copy, I just watched it sa laptop. I'll talk about Gossip Girl in a separate entry.. I just love the series.. Very OC! hehe

So there, that was how I spent my Saturday. I have to catch up now with CSI on AXN...
